Week 2: And now, for something entirely different

Change of Plans

    Hello again, everyone!

Last week, I started this blog as an exploration of Fictional Worlds. Unfortunately, however, I realized that while I found my topic of choice interesting, my ability to properly convey my interest in such a topic in and interesting, engaging, and informative manner was... limited. Therefore, I have decided to switch my topic completely. Instead of posting about my niche interest, I will now be posting my niche Hobby.

For those who do not know (which I can safely assume constitutes the majority of people viewing this Blog,) Warhammer 40,000 is a Tabletop War Game created by Games Workshop. The Setting is science fiction, though with a plethora of Fantasy tropes mixed in. I could go on for pages about the setting itself, but thankfully for all of you, that is not the purpose of this Blog.

I will, instead, be focusing on the models for the War Game itself. Unlike normal board games, Wargaming miniatures come unassembled and unpainted. It is up to the user to collect, build, and paint all models they want to use on the tabletop. For my blog, I will be documenting my experience building and painting these models.

For my first Project on this blog, I will be assembling the "Astra Militarum" army set (pictured below.) I hope to have the project built in a week, and painted after two. Part of the purpose of this blog is to keep me accountable to this project, helping me complete it within my allotted time frame. My time management skills leave much to be desired, so hopefully this blog can help with that.

By next Wednesday, the bulk of this project should be assembled and ready for painting. Tune in then to see if I managed to complete this task, and if not, make fun of me in the comments for being lazy.
